This meditative combination of three well-known spirituals--I Want Jesus to Walk With Me, Sometimes I Feel Like A Motherless Child, and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot--was created for Katlyn Addison, a soloist with Ballet West. She requested that I transcribe some of my sung spirituals for solo piano for a choreography project. "Sanctuary" premiered in March, 2022, as part of Kansas City Ballet's New Moves program. I Want Jesus to Walk With Me and Motherless Child may be excerpted.
